Luffing HPU – Reclaimer 12,000 TPH

Design and manufacture of hydraulic luffing system for a 12,000 tph bauxite bucketwheel reclaimer. The hydraulic design included 2 x 55kW pump modules to meet specific redundancy requirements, load control valving and hydraulic cylinder mounted protection valving. Inhouse 3D modelling using Pro Engineer permitted easy integration with the Clients overall 3D design process for resolution of physical mounting and piping interfaces with the HPU and cylinder manifold blocks (cylinder manufacture by others).
The project scope extended to supply of system pipe, hose and fitting kits as well as supporting the OEM with hydraulic cylinder air purging, temporary machine movements during construction and module pin-offs, pre-commissioning and site commissioning.
