Who We Are

Introduction

In 2005, Michael Hooker formed Hooker Engineering with the objective to provide hydraulic and mechanical engineering services to the mining and industrial sectors.

Hooker Engineering Australia provides seamless project engineering services to a broad range of industries, both local and international. We provide engineering from the early stages of a project with initial conceptual design, through to detailed design and execution.

Complete hydraulic and lubrication systems are designed, manufactured and assembled in house with components sourced locally and internationally.

Hooker Engineering merges all disciplines—hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and fabrication. Systems can be installed and commissioned by our Field Engineers in accordance with client requirements.  Hooker Engineering is a ONE STOP SERVICE PROVIDER.

Our objective is to provide our clients with cost-effective engineered solutions, manufactured to appropriate quality standards- delivered on time and on budget.

The company has established itself as a successful provider of hydraulic and lubrication systems to the iron ore, coal, gold and base metal mining equipment suppliers.

Full services have been provided throughout Australasia, Pacific Rim and Africa.

People

Managing Director of Hooker Engineering is Michael Hooker.

Before setting up the business, Michael had 15 years’ experience in mechanical and hydraulic engineering and has been involved in a range of mining and material handling projects in WA.

In addition, his international experience includes the challenges of commissioning and maintenance of projects in Africa and Papua New Guinea.

Michael qualified as a mechanical engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of WA.

But it’s Michael’s extensive experience at the design desk and in the field that make all the difference to the services Hooker Engineering offers.

He began his engineering career at KRUPP where he gained a thorough understanding of the operating requirements of a broad range of mineral processing and materials handling equipment.

At Vickers Systems and Brevini Australia specific experience in both hydraulic and electromechanical power transmission was gained.

As a project engineer at CSBP Wesfarmers he learned valuable chemical processing skills, including the stringent QA/QC and safety requirements associated with work in major hazards facilities.

Michael now heads a Hooker Engineering team of professionals dedicated to delivering the best engineering solutions to its clients.
